Organisation Profile
Secret Sub Rosa unifies a diverse range of local talent, including artists, craftspeople, graphic designers, musicians, DJ’s, performers and stage and lighting technicians. Together we collaborate on creating immersive arts, music and performance events both online, indoors and outdoors at various local venues and arts/music festivals.
Intrinsically entwined into our ethos of “a place of love and learning for all”, our team’s focus is the fostering of creativity through workshops and activities, actively engaging in the design, creation and construction of themed sets and live event decor.
Through our Community Interest Company we aim to bring tangible benefits to our community through the provision of these activities. Serving as a gateway for individuals within our community to participate in a variety of these activities, experiences and projects, both collaboratively and independently, participants have the opportunity to acquire new skills and enhance existing ones, fostering personal development and building self confidence. Our events and productions bring together like minded people together through a shared interest in art and music, developing a sense of belonging and community. They provide opportunities for people to form bonds, friendships and connections within artistic and music communities. They provide a respite from the routines of daily life in an atmosphere of joy, celebration and the shared experience of art and music, contributing to a sense of fulfilment and emotional well being.
Participation in our workshops, activities and events is open to a wide range of individuals within our community, and we are dedicated to being inclusive and supportive, for example: neuro-diverse (ND) individuals, sufferers of Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, ADHD and people with mild to moderate physical impairments.
We actively collaborate with other community groups, organisations and local councils. We use and extend our support to local businesses, suppliers, venues and events through our patronage wherever possible.
Our approach emphasises sustainability by repurposing materials to minimise waste and reduce environmental impact. As we consider the expansion of our impact, we are actively exploring the implementation of volunteer training schemes and mentoring initiatives. These endeavours aim to enhance community engagement by providing structured learning opportunities, fostering personal and professional growth among our participants.
In addition, one of our most cherished achievements is to serve as a platform for emerging local talent in the realms of art, performance and music, nurturing and promoting the growth of up and coming artists.
