At the heart of everything we do there’s a creative process involved.

This page showcase art and design from the people within our community and gives examples of the different skills we have. From sketches and conceptual planning all the way through to graphic design, painting, sculpture and materials work. These projects were all created within live event briefs and featured at one of our productions. We have a lot of fun creating!

Obelisks

Created as part of our ‘Lost in Sub Space’ festival stage set, these totems, or obelisks were inspired from needing some peripheral decor around the dance floor with illumination to add some interesting features.

The sets main brief was based around a science fiction theme with a paint finish to match the distressed space ship we built for a main stage piece which as the story goes, crashed deep in the heart of a lost jungle .

Several people helped in the creation of these four matching items, although Jaime was the design lead on this production.

They were made from wooden frames, ply wood and shower curtains for screens!

MAYAN TEMPLE INSPIRED STAGE SET

Every project we finish we learn a great deal from. Honing our skills this set was the most recent live project we’ve completed for a themed festival dance stage called ‘ Ravers of the Lost Art and the Temple of Boom’.

The concept to this set was inspired from every movie we’ve loved growing up that’s an adventure from start to finish. Much like the pun in the title we feel that a good show has to have impact and immersion to give the attendee an experience they remember.

The whole set was built by different teams, from the forest canopy to the fun signs and plant creations, but the main stage was designed and produced by Jaime with some help from a few people on the head carvings. The set took months tom build and pushed the vision we aim for and production up a few notches. The finished set was complimented by Greg and his team with FX and lighting. We experimented with image mapping onto the main temple set which was visually stunning.

The Main stage piece was based around a Mayan temple, but designed in such a way to give the illusion of large scale and 3D. The facia was hand carved from insulation foam, painted with acrylic and fixed with sealants. Quite a messy job but the effect was incredible once the finishing touches and jungle plants were installed.
